We will update this page weekly with learning tasks for the children to complete at home. We recommend that you plan and prioritise the basics- English and Maths. Children learn better in the morning so focus on these subjects then.
A suggested typical day:
Could also include:
Design & Technology
Try and keep to a similar routine each day and build in regular break times. Physical activity will be more important than ever.
To contact your child's class teacher, use the listed email below. These email addresses are to be used to ask questions about learning activities sent home or set online. Teachers will endeavour to respond during normal school hours. Any other questions should be sent directly to Mrs Smart.
We would love to see what you are getting up to at home. Please email your teacher any photos that you would like to share with us. We can then share these photos on the website and on twitter for others to enjoy. Get snapping!!
As we cannot swap reading books at school, you can now continue to read books on Oxford Owl. It is your very own virtual bookshelf! https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/
Select the pink my class login icon at the top of the screen.
Login as: wsfclass4, wsfclass5 or wsfclass6- according to class4, class5 or class6 and use the password Summer1.
Click on the pink my bookshelf icon at the top, then use the search bar to search for a book by theme, series or age group. There are also optional activities to complete which can be found in the parents section.
Have fun! Keep reading!!
Welcome to Year 4!!
We would like to extend a warm welcome to you all and we hope you have had a lovely half term break!
Our topic this half term is ‘ EUROPE’.
Our topic this term 'Mind, Body & Soul' was originally planned to link with the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. Due to the current situation in the world, the Olympic Games are now postponed until Summer 2021. This term is a geography focused topic and Y4 will be exploring the continent of Europe instead.
As always, do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!
The Year 4 Team
As part of our English work this year we will be following the Talk4Writing process using story maps to help internalise the texts we are using. We are currently using a 'change story' as our focus. With your child look at the story map below and discuss it.
