Special visitor
Today we had a special visitor, an author called Rachel and her husband Alan, came share with us her books that she also illustrated. She told us one of her stories about Ruffles the dog who gets to go on a train ride for helping Eric the save the day.
Don't forget you can order one of Rachel's book still 😀
Our new topic is TRANSPORT
This term we are learning all about transports, on the first day back we came to school to find a crash on our playground, we found a box, a culinder, a picnic basket and an owl!
we learnt all about baby bear and his rocket and have had fun learning about space too.
Then we had to board the woodville train and go on a journey, we've learnt a new story all about a train ride and have been looking at old and new trains.
Well done Gold Class 😀
A big, big well done to everybody in Gold Class for a fantastic full term at school, they have all worked so well amd showed great attititude to learning. They have been great friends to each other, being kind and supporting each other. They have learnt so much and we hope they have a great Christmas holiday and we look forward to another great term in January. They really are golden gold Class 🌟
Not all superheroes wear capes........
This week we met a few superheroes that don't wear capes..... firstly we met Tina and Louise, and they told us how they helped people in the community. They showed us the special bracelet people can wear if they are elderly or have trouble with their mobility, this bracelet alarms Tina and Louise if the person has had a fall. They showed us a special inflatable chair that helps them to help the fallen person up.
Some children helped to get Miss Robinson up from her fall.
Next we met Mrs Walker's dog, Jenson, we all thought he was a lovely pet, but Mrs told us to close our eyes and a super hero would appear, when we opened them Jenson was wearing his special cape (harness) which turned him into a superhero. We learnt that Mr Walkers eyes don't work like ours and that Jenson does a super job of being his eyes, we found out all the things Jenson helps Mr Walker do like, go to the shops, go for a walk and cross the road safely.
We now know that not all superheroes wear capes or have two legs.
Handwriting
In handwriting today, the children enjoyed using their 'froggy fingers' to grip their pencils and practised their handwriting on large sheets of paper.
They started with circles, went on to do zigzags, bumps, going over the hills and straight down lines.
Super handwriting Gold Class ✏️👍
Dough disco 🎶
Gold Class have been enjoying their first sessions of dough disco this week. They have been dancing and moving to the music whilst manipulating their dough, building up their excellent 'froggy fingers'.
They have squashed, rolled, patted, pulled their dough and used Tommy thumb, Peter pointer, Toby tall, Ruby ring and baby small to poke the dough, this helps build up their strong finger muscles ready for writing.
On Friday, Gold Class received our last letter from the superhero, we went on a treasure hunt to find our treats for being super learners! We had to follow the clues, jumping, tip-toeing and skipping our way to the reward.
Well done to all 12 children for achieving 100% attendance last term. That's another gold feather for your owl.
