Woodville Schools Federation Nativity
We have missed having you into school to watch live performances this term, but we were never going to let Christmas pass us by without putting together a Nativity for you to enjoy from the comfort and safety of your own homes. Here is our Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 2020 Nativity Movie! Get your popcorn and enjoy.
A 'No Festival Harvest'
As many of you will know, we traditionally visit St. Stephen's Church for our Harvest Festival each year. Sadly, we were unable to go this autumn due to the restrictions in place to keep our children and community safe. So... we have put together a little video for you to see and given you the link to the Trussel Trust website where you can make a donation to your nearest foodbank.
Woodville doesn't do Harvest without a lot of Harvest Praise.
We are so proud of each and everyone of you and all your efforts during 'Virtual Sports Week'. It was a strange way of doing things, but it turned out great! Well done!!!
The Day the Crayons Quit 26.6.20
We have had great fun in school and at home this week, engaging with the winner of our Battle of the Picture Book text. Go to the gallery pages of each school to see the work completed at home and in school. Today we dressed up in the colour of our favourite crayons. The school was filled with colour. What a delight to behold! Take a look at photographs of our pods in school and the children at home.
Can you work out what the most popular colour was?
Front Cover Challenge 11.5.20
This week we have asked you to recreate the front cover of your favourite book, using household items. Take a look at the front covers below, which have been created by our fabulous staff. We had so much fun doing this!
What is your favourite book? Can you recreate the front cover?
Take a photograph and email your teacher or tweet it!
Check out the Infant and Junior gallery pages for pupil work.

World Book Day - March 2019
Reading Area Competition September 2018
All classes were asked to create an area in their classroom that would inspire them to read. The teachers and children thought long and hard and came up with some fabulous spaces. Take a look at the pictures.
When the judges visited each classroom they were amazed at the wonderful reading spaces that had been created and actually wanted to sit down and start reading! They also found it incredibly difficult to choose the winners because everyone had worked so hard and were so excited and proud of their new reading areas.
for being awarded OVERALL JUNIOR WINNERS
for being awarded OVERALL INFANT WINNERS.
Congratulations also go to Class 3, Class 11, Yellow Class and Orange Class who were chosen as the runners up.
Olympus are victorious!
The Federation held its first house challenge today out on the Junior Field. The challenge involved moving coloured water from a bucket to a bowl using only a sponge.
Children from each house volunteered to take part in the challenge and had great fun passing the sponges along the line. At the end we measured the amount of water in each bowl, to find out who had won.
Team Olympus were victorious, managing to transfer 1800ml of water in 5 minutes.
The final results were as follows:
1. Olympus- 1800ml
2. Viper- 1700ml
3. Pegasus- 1200ml
4. Merlin- 1100ml
5. Meteor- 1000ml
6. Griffon- 850ml
Well done to all the children who took part! What a fun first house event!
Last year the staff surprised the children with a Michael Jackson 'Thriller' flashmob. This year they 'danced' themselves through a Steps medley.
All of the children and staff from across the federation took part in a hour of exercise for ACES day (All Children Exercise Simultaneously). It was a fun packed hour of exercise and dance thanks to Mrs Peake and Miss Devine's choreography!
Our families enjoyed an afternoon of Easter crafts and activities as well as a nice cup of tea and hot cross buns. Happy Easter Everyone.
