Woodville is not going to let a global pandemic stop us from producing a fabulous and festive Christmas Nativity. We are just going to have to be a little bit creative!
Here you will find the tracks and lyrics for the songs that we will be using for our Federation Nativity and we are asking the children to be the singing stars! We need your child to record their voice at home singing one (or as many) of the songs that we will be using as possible and email the audio recording to Mrs Haywood: firstname.lastname@example.org by 8:00am on Monday 23rd November. Any recordings sent after this time will not be included.
We will be videoing various scenes that involve a little acting and the brilliant Makaton sign language the children have been learning in their music lessons with Mrs Hollywood... uh, I mean Haywood. This will then be edited together for our very own Nativity Movie. We’ll see you at the Oscars!
You will need:
The audio track on the school website
A quiet room with no background noise
A lyric sheet and a blob of blu-tac (or a third device with the lyrics on)
Plug your headset into Device 1, which can be a laptop/iPad/mobile phone and set up the backing track ready to play.
Place Device 2 on a stationary surface, do not hold whilst recording.
Using a recording app (most phones have them, if not you can download them for free,) you will need to record your child’s voice on Device 2.
When your child is ready, press record and stay QUIET. Press play on the backing track so your child can hear it through their headset.
Sing your silly socks off!
P.S. the blob of blu-tac is to stick your lyric sheet to a wall/mirror or other suitable surface.
General singing notes:
If you are not sure what you are singing or you are getting confused please don't record the song until you have spoken to Mrs Haywood and she will help you.
I hope you are all well and singing your silly socks off when ever you can!
I've added a new song for both INFANTS and JUNIORS called HOPE which ties into the Junior Collective Worship Value this week. Please have a listen. If you like it check out the website. Just search AllstarKidsClub.
I hope lots of you have already listened to the 8.08 minute long 1940s medley of songs! I have edited this section now as we won't be able to celebrate VE Day in the same way, but I will be singing these songs on our Zoom singing session on Friday 8th May at 11.02am (with the 2 minutes silence) so please do join us! Scroll down for the lyrics at the end and 2 records of me singing the songs to help you remember how they all go!

Hello everyone! Mrs Haywood here to say I am missing and thinking about you all lots. We might not be able to sing together, but here are some songs for you to practice until we meet again. We will upload more songs over the coming weeks, here are your starter songs!
We hope everyone managed to make the best out of their 'socially distant' Mother's Day. As you will be aware, the Infant School Choir were due to perform for parents/carers on Friday 20th March but this, unfortunately, had to be cancelled. To help make the best out of the situation, each song has been recorded for you to be able to watch here on the school website. Enjoy!
