Class 2 have settled in really well into the Junior School and are working really hard. We are really impressed with how the children have behaved in school and have adapted to a very busy timetable.
In English we are learning about " The Life Cycle of the Pea."
We had a very exciting morning on Monday for our Hook Day, we had a Treasure Hunt!
The children had to follow the clues around the school and find some pictures. Back in the classroom they had to work out what the pictures were, then try and put them in order, to show the Life Cycle of the Pea. See pictures below.
In Maths, we are adding numbers using column addition.
Class 2 have produced some beautiful Art work and Poems for our Northern Lights Topic.
We Love our Reading Jungle
This week in Science Class 2 have been finding out if objects are Opaque, Transparent or Translucent. Using a torch the children choose lots of different objects and had to determine which category they fit into. They had great fun! See if you can spot your child below and ask them if they can tell you what they found out.

What a strange morning we had on Monday! We were told there was some strange things happening in school.
There was a cricket under Mrs Gillham's desk.
A shark in the boys toilet.
The girls toilets were flooded.
There was a clown driving a car in the car park.
There was a police man in the playground.
Every time Class 2 went to investigate we couldn't find anything?
What was going on?
On Monday Class 2 had a hook day to introduce our new English topic. All the children made a peg doll in preparation for writing an Instruction text. Have a look at the photos below see if your child can tell you which one is theirs.
Another exciting morning in Class 2! The children had a surprise visitor who brought some interesting animals in to see us all.
In our Science topic we are looking at Animals including humans. Everyone got the opportunity to look, touch and hold some different animals. Some were cuddly, some not so but we had lots of brave children and Mrs Woollett holding them.

In English the children are learning the story of The Paper Bag Princess and working towards writing a monster story of their own. We had our hook day on Monday and have been having a go at being a news reporter.
