Welcome to Purple Class
Our PE lessons will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The children are to come to school ready in their PE kits and they will return home in them. Please remember to still send your child with their book bags on PE days. Thank you.
What a busy buzzing first day back we have had. We have been lucky enough to have a special visitor come into school today, The bee farmer. The bee farmer has taught us lots of fascinating new facts about different species of bees and their jobs. We couldn’t believe it when he told us that there is only one species of honey bee and in a nest there will be upto 60,000 bees. There are 24 species of bumble bees and they live in a nest with 60 other bees. I wonder what else the children can remember if you ask them. How long does it take for a bee to grow from an egg to a bee? How fast can they fly? What are the three parts of a bees body? What different jobs do they do?
We also got to make some yummy honey biscuits and some honey cornflake cakes. The recipe for the honey biscuits is below if you wanted to make them again at home.
We finished off our buzztastic day by becoming bees ourselves and collecting pollen. This was so much fun and the children really enjoyed it.
Welcome back to all the children after a lovely Easter break. It sounded like the children did lots of exciting things whilst they were at home.
We have had a busy day in Purple Class today. We have had the paint, the glitter, the sequins and the feathers out. They all made their very own superhero masks and explained what sort of superhero they would be. They explained what their powers and strengths would be. We had a great discussion about what makes a great superhero and the qualities they might possess. The children really thought hard about this and came up with some fantastic answers. They said superheroes need to be confident, brave, strong, helpful, flexible plus many many more. The children also got to rescue some figures from ice, jelly and slime. It’s been a messy day but it has been absolutely brilliant.
Some children in Purple Class have made an Easter garden. These looked amazing.
We hope you have a fantastic Easter break🐣. Enjoy all your delicious chocolate🍫.
What an incredibly busy term we have had. Everyone has worked so hard and we are very proud of each and every one of the children. Enjoy a well deserved rest over the holidays, keep safe and take care of each other.
Merry Christmas to you all.

Well what a very busy couple of weeks we have had in Purple Class. We have all worked so hard in English and in Maths and have produced some fantastic work. Well done to everyone.
This week in English we have been looking at the story Mr Big. We have all really enjoyed the story and the children have all joined in with the actions. Well done Purple Class. The children also got to act out part of the story in small groups. They all did so well.
What an amazing half term we have had in Purple Class. The children have worked so hard and really have made us very proud with how well they all adjusted to the changes in school. They have done some amazing writing and worked so hard in maths. We have all enjoyed Yellow Day and the children all looked great in their something yellow. We even had a couple of yellow teddy bears join Purple Class for the day. Well done children, you are all amazing.
We are sending the children home with learning packs for the half term break. Please share these with your child and complete as many tasks as you can. Please continue to read regularly with your child to help them progress.
Thank you for your continued support. Please stay safe and have a wonderful half term break.

We have been reminding ourselves of the number bonds to 10. Please practise this with your child at home, can they teach you the number bond song we have learnt in class. There are also some YouTube videos that can help them with their number bonds.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
