Well done everyone!! Our marble jar is full!!! What does that mean? A MARBLE PARTY!!
We all enjoyed our marble party this week to celebrate our good behaviour and hard work in Class 1. You have made all the teachers very proud so keep it up everyone!!
This week in Science we have been testing different materials to find out whether they are transparant, translucent or opaque. We recorded our results and were able to say what we had found out.
This week we have created some paintings in the style of Van Gogh using "The Starry Night" picture as inspiration.
Here are some of our finished paintings.
We hope you all had a happy half term.
This week we have enjoyed listening to the story "The Day the Crayons Quit." We have been thinking about how each colour felt in the story. In drama we created a freeze frame to represent how a crayon felt using our facial expression.
In Science this week the children have been learning about muscles and how muscles work to help us move. The children made a model of the muscles in an arm to help them explain that when one muscle contracts the other one relaxes.
Happy Half Term
Well done to all the children in Class 1 who have settled into Year 3 really well. You have all worked hard so far and are making good progress. Thank you to all the parents who came to parents evening, I hope you are proud of your child as much as I am. I will look forward to welcoming you all back on Tuesday 31st October feeling refreshed and ready to learn again. We have a busy term ahead but I am sure Class 1 will continue to work hard and impress me. The marble jar is nearly full, so a whole class reward will be happening soon!!
We really enjoyed making fruit kebabs and they tasted delicious!!
We have enjoyed writing postcards this week in our topic work. We have imagined that we are in sunny Florida and have written to Mrs Woollett to tell her what a good time we are having. Our postcards look amazing on our display board!
On Monday 25th September we had a street dance lesson which we really enjoyed. We learnt some street dance moves and tried to create our own dance sequence in a group. We had great fun!
In English this week, we have started to enjoy listening to "The Awful Auntie" by David Walliams. We have learnt all about what Aunt Alberta looks like and what sort of character she is. We have worked hard to write a character description using lots of adjectives. The story so far has made us giggle a lot and we are looking forward to hearing what happens next.
In English this week we have enjoyed listening to "The Twits" by Roald Dahl. We wrote a description about Mr and Mrs Twit and we thought of our own trick that we could play as Mr or Mrs Twit. We acted out our trick with a partner.
